Kristal C. Coles was born into a military family. She has lived in seven states and two countries across two continents but finally chose Arizona as the place to raise her family and call home.
Kristal is a self-taught artist and has involved herself with the arts from a young age. Her first public installation was placed in Meredith, NH in 1996. Her art has been seen in print as well as in museums and permanent public displays. It has also won a purchase award through a juried international competition.
Kristal’s preferred medium is a mix of wood, acrylic paint, and found or made objects. Her pieces celebrate the beauty that occurs when seemingly unrelated items are used together—similar to how communities and people are best when united. Her work continues to be used on an international platform to teach young artists about the use of symbolism in art.
